Wanderlust Wednesday: Fashion Books for 2015
Here we have a little new post series: Wanderlust Wednesdays! The purpose of the posts will be to share things or places that have me going crazy over them, and you can share yours in return. Pretty awesome, right?! This first post is about fashion books that are sparking my wanderlust craze:
Book: The Gospel According To Coco Chanel: Life Lessons From The World's Most Elegant Woman Author: Karen Karbo Why I want to read it: First, It's about Coco Chanel! But, although that might be reason enough, I am really looking forward to those life lessons.
Book: Beyond Chic Author: Ivan Terestchenko Why I want to read it: I always find it interesting (and inspirational!) to see the workspaces or homes of creative people like designers.
Book: The Little Black Jacket Author: Karl Lagerfeld & Carine Roitfeld Why I want to read it: More Chanel? Yes, please! What is even better is that is made by two fashion paramounts: Karl & Carine! Super excited for this one.
Book: I'll Drink to That: A Life in Style, With a Twist Author: Betty Halbreich, with Rebecca Paley Why I want to read it: OMG! Betty has a book! I first learned about Betty in "Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf's", and who didn't love her wit? Now I can finally learn more about this queen of personal style and influence!
Book: Dinner Diaries: Reviving The Art Of The Hostess Author: Daniel Cappello Why I want to read it: When I moved out of my mom's house and had my own place it really dawned on me about my lack of hostess skills (and that my husband mentioned it a few times to me also helped!) Since then, I have really grown into it, and I mean you get to play dress up for your place and yourself! What could be better than that? So I want to learn all the tricks I can to be the best hostess I can be and get that schedule filled with dinner parties!
Book: Memos: The Vogue Years Author: Diana Vreeland, Edited by Alexander Vreeland Why I want to read it: I just love Diana! She is such a fashion powerhouse. I loved her documentary "Diana Vreeland: The Eye has to Travel" , so I am dying to read this. So much to learn!
What about you? Do you have any books on your list? What books would you recommend me? Would you be adding any of these to yours? Comment!
*As a note, I use wanderlust because it is the perfect way to describe my feelings for the world around me and the one we create for ourselves, it is my desire to immerse myself into that world made up of fashion and pretty things. As Diana so aptly put it: "The Eye has to Travel". I think you can relate...
