Barbie ha sido una figura emblemática para las niñas de todo el mundo desde la década de los 1950s. Pero aunque Barbie siempre fue una defensora del feminismo al mostrarles a las niñas que podían lograr cualquier carrera con la que alguna vez hubieran soñado, carecía de representación y diversidad. En los últimos años eso ha cambiado, y no solo para incluir la diversidad étnica, sino también la diversidad corporal (nota que todavía hay espacio para crecer, pero al menos es un comienzo). Con colecciones como Career Dolls, Inspiring Women y Shero, están demostrando al mundo que la diversidad y la inclusión son importantes cuando se trata del verdadero empoderamiento de las niñas a un nivel mundial. // Barbie has been an iconic figure for little girls world-wide since the 1950's. But although Barbie was always an advocate of feminism by showing girls that they could achieve any career they ever dreamed of, she lacked diversity representation. Over the past few years that has changed, and not only to include ethnic diversity, but body diversity as well (noted, there is still room there for growth, but at least it's a start). With collections like the Career Dolls, Inspiring Women and Shero, they are showing the world that diversity and inclusion matter when it comes to the true empowerment of girls all over the world.
