2017 fue el año de la feminista moderna, la mujer que fue capaz de no sólo articular, pero demostrar que el feminismo no es una mala palabra. En 2018, estamos listas para no sólo para regar la voz de lo que es el feminismo de verdad, estamos listas para tomar acción. // 2017 was the year of the modern feminist, the woman who was able to not only to articulate, but demonstrate that Feminism it is not a dirty word. In 2018, we are ready to not only to keep spreading the word about what Feminism truly is, we are ready to take action.

Anoche marcó un nuevo y valiente comienzo para las mujeres en el mundo. Hemos terminado con el pedir ser escuchadas y pedir ayuda para ser salvadas, ahora nos estamos haciendo oír y ser vistas, pero lo más importante es que nos estamos salvando a nosotras mismas. Los movimientos #MeToo & #TimesUp actualmente lideran el camino para las mujeres que no pensaban que tenían voz, opciones, soporte - e incluso un futuro. No sólo están exponiendo a ciertas industrias, sino a la sociedad en general, y haciéndoles responsables de sus acciones. Compartir tus historias y hacer que se escuche tu voz es el comienzo, pero se necesita mucho más que eso (se necesita acción) y el tipo de acción correcta. Del tipo que educa, brinda apoyo y lucha por sus derechos. El movimiento #MeToo ayudó a arrojar luz sobre el problema que enfrentamos como mujeres, le dio a las mujeres de todo el mundo una voz y una comunidad de apoyo para demostrarles que no están solas y que son dignas de justicia. Pero también necesitamos acción, y ahí es donde entra el movimiento #TimesUp. Las mujeres que lideran el movimiento están buscando cambiar la legislación y han establecido un Fondo Legal para poder proporcionar a las víctimas de asalto y acoso sexual recursos legales para realmente perseguir la justicia. // Last night marked a brave new beginning for women in the world. We are done asking to be heard and asking for help being saved, now we are making ourselves heard and seen, but most importantly we are saving ourselves. The #MeToo & #TimesUp movements are currently leading the way for women who didn't think they had a voice, options, support - even a future. They are not only calling out certain industries, but society as a whole, and making them accountable for their actions. Sharing your story and making your voice heard is the start, but it takes much more than that - it takes action - and the right kind. The kind that educates, provides support and fights for your rights. The #MeToo movement help shed light in the issue we face as women, it gave women all over the world  a voice and a community of support to show them that they are not alone and that they are worthy of justice. But we also need action, and that's where the #TimesUp movement comes in. The women leading the movement are looking to change legislation and have set up a Legal Fund to be able to provide victim's of sexual assault and harassment with legal resources to actually pursue justice.  

Los Golden Globes se llevaron a cabo anoche y como parte de los movimientos #MeToo y #TimesUp, las mujeres de Hollywood se unieron para vestirse de negro para asistir al evento como muestra de solidaridad y compromiso con las mujeres según lo descrito por las declaraciones compartidas por el movimiento #TimesUp: // The Golden Globes were held last night and as part of the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements, the women in Hollywood united to wear black to the event as a sign of solidarity and commitment with women as described by the statements shared by the #TimesUp movement:

La postura adoptada por estas mujeres muestra que no es un momento para quedarse quieta y callarse. Tenemos que levantar la voz sin importar el momento o el problema. Y cuando se trata de desigualdad y abuso, no existe un problema menor, por lo que muchas de las actrices presentes aprovecharon la oportunidad para difundir aún más el mensaje: // The stance taken by these women show that it is not a moment to stand still and be quiet. We have to raise our voice no matter the moment or the issue. And when it comes to inequality and abuse, there is no small issue, which is why many of the actresses present took advantage of the opportunity to further spread the message:

Vestí de negro (figurativamente) en solidaridad con otras mujeres que han sido maltratadas, hostigadas y silenciadas por la sociedad, por muchos y por cualquiera. Hoy, y todos los días, estoy con ustedes para ayudar a poner fin a ese silencio alimentado por la vergüenza, ese abuso alimentado por inseguridades e ira, a el hostigamiento diario alimentado por la ignorancia y la masculinidad frágil. No sólo estoy contigo, yo soy tú. He sido agredida y hostigada en muchas escalas como muchas de ustedes y aunque mi situación no es tan horrible como podrían ser las de otras, sí cambia y da forma a la manera en que se ve y reacciona ante el mundo, ya que es el MO (modus operandi) estándar para intentar robarle a las mujeres de su valor, pero eso se detiene AHORA. Finalmente estamos avanzando y hacia un futuro donde las mujeres tienen poder, donde las mujeres (y los hombres) son sistemas de apoyo entre sí, donde hemos aprendido a amar a nuestros cuerpos como son y por lo que son. // I wore black (figuratively) in solidarity with fellow women who have been abused, harassed and silenced by society, by many and any. Today, and every day, I stand with you to help end that silence fueled by shame, that abuse fueled by insecurities and rage, that "on a daily basis" harassment fueled by ignorance and fragile masculinity. I am not only with you, I am you. I have been assaulted and harassed in many scales like many of you and although my situations are not as horrible as they may have been for others, it does change and shape how you see and react to the world as it is the standard MO for trying to rob women of their worthiness, but that stops NOW. We are finally moving forward and towards a future where women are empowered, where women (and men) are support systems to each other, where we have learned to love our bodies how they are and for what they are.
